About Steve

Steve Livingston's award-winning interior design is distinguished by its signature warmth, personal approach, whimsey and use of a variety of innovative materials and custom furnishings.  Steve has been featured in many prestigious publications, both residential and trade.

Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Steve received his formal training at Cumbria College in England.  After representing the highest-end European cabinetry such as Allmilmo and Snaidero in both the U.K. and San Francisco, Steve established his independent design practice in 2002 in order to provide a broader array of services and freeing up the options for product and materials.

Philosophy

In a world where leading designers often impose their taste and style onto the needs of their clients, Steve utilizes a very different approach.  Taking creative cues directly from his clients - their perceptions, preferences and passions - he creates bespoke interiors from the widest palette of possibilities to result in architecturally appropriate environments. Completed projects instantly become that most personal of all places...home.

In his own words:

"I believe in, and enjoy creating, spaces that are architecturally and emotionally inspiring.  My goal is to create sophisticated, minimalist interior spaces that exceed your unique needs, often providing something you didn't even realize you craved, and yet, once done, is immediately recognized as absolutely right."
